Pseudo-subluxation

Usually C2 on C3 (may be C3 on C4)
40% of children younger than 8 years of age
4 mm is upper limit
Swischuk – using the posterior cervical spinolaminar line the line of C1, C2 & C3 should be within 1 mm or this suggests pathologic subluxation
