Congenital Dislocation of the Patella

Definition
- Patella lateral to hypoplastic femoral condyle
Examination
- Tight quadriceps & iliotibial band
- Infant – may require U/S or MRI for diagnosis
- Child - will have flexion contracture, external rotation & valgus
Treatment
- lateral release, medial imbrication & quad lengthening
