Brostrom repair

ATFL/CFL sheet are reattached
multiple sutures are placed between sheet & periosteum still attached to fibula, these are initially clipped & then tied once all are placed
Inferior extensor retinaculum
- needs to be identified
- exposed as separate sheet
- then sutured over top of ATFL/CFL repair in similar fashion whilst holding ankle everted
back slab is then applied with foot in eversion

Postoperative

2 weeks
- change to full cast in eversion
6 weeks
- cast remove
- FWB is then started
- refer to physiotherapists
  - proprioceptive
  - strength training exercises
